This is a old school authentic Mexican Tamale restaurant with a twist. They have great flavors on a variety of traditional Mexican foods with tamales incorporated into the dish. Tamale omelet is my go to. My son enjoyed the torta. The different tamales are all savory. Dined in and tried to discover a new mix of flavors by combining my favorite tamales in my favorite dish. Went well. Service is welcoming and warm. They will help with the menu if you are new or want to try something different then your last combination. Get creative.

Wow!! Those Tamales are off the HOOK DELICIOUS!! Cooked to the science, ( Tamale slid right out of the corn husks), got them back to the grubbing place in Temple City and still hot enough to eat. Walked in and Charlie, nice guy, chopped it up with my Son, and I. Pics to follow. The signage on the walls, family pictures, Mr Tamale Man himself, awards of sponsorships, acknowledgements through out the years. So, eplease come out, if you already know and come here for some great, honest, Mexican Food, spread the word for the Raza, and visit this Gem in the wall place on Eastern Ave in El Sereno see for yourself? The moral of my story is when all else fails...... Remember, go back to basics. My name is Chuy, aka Jesse Vara Viramontes signing off for now, for it's 5:20am, SGV time. Lol

Try the tamale omelette!!! An entire tamale wrapped in an egg and covered with a beautiful sauce () the rice and beans are pure perfection! Have to also comment on the cafe de la olla... that'll instantly remind you of the comforts of home with la abuela. I can't express it any better!

I've been coming here for years, following the Tamale man since he was selling from a shopping cart around the corner at the market when I was in elementary school. Red-pork are the best! Saucy, meaty with the perfect balance of masa cheese coming in second chicken is yummy too, but sometimes a bit off. But today, everything was perfect! I'm definitely picking up a few dozen for Christmas Eve!

Very friendly customer service, I tried their Tamales for the first time and I was very satisfied with the flavor and the amount of filling that was Inside the Tamales. I just had to come back and order a few dozens of the green chicken and red pork Tamales for Christmas Eve. If you want tasty Tamales that are a good size come here. They do accept debit and credit but I did notice that the transactions are a bit glitchy with the machine they use so if you can, make it easier for your self and for the restaurant and bring cash instead. I'll be here Christmas eve to pick up my order however I will be back even after Christmas. OH! One more thing! The Champurado is also Really good. Don't forget to get your self some to go along with your tamales. Update: 8/25/2023 Still the best place to get Tamales from. I also added a image of the current menu pricing.
